Our Story...

Our Story
It all began in Burnham (where Jo lived) and Windsor (Simon's abode). Jo was waiting to be whisked away to a romantic meal in Simon's yellow sports (banana) car when the phone rang. Jo spoke to her sister for about half an hour, whilst her date (Simon) waited in the car (the waiting would be a sign of things to come). We not only arrived to the restaurant late, but Simon had not booked us a table so, in the end, our fairy tale love story began in the Harvester, Slough; the only 'restaurant' that could seat us for food.

The Proposal

All had gone well; Jo had conquered her fear of flying to make the 7 hour flight to America on her own, then I avoided an impromptu airport proposal by getting the ring through airport security on our way from Boston to Niagara Falls.

As I nervously walked around looking for the perfect place to pop the question, trying to coerce Jo to somewhere quiet was proving difficult. Luckily, it all worked out for the best as we inadvertently came across a secluded spot with an idyllic view over the top of Niagara Falls.

I waited until Jo was distracted, found the ring, and got down on one knee. Jo's immediate reaction was one of...silence! After what felt like an eternity, Jo said "yes!" Turns out, she didn't immediately realise I was proposing!

We finished off an amazing day having dinner overlooking the Canadian side of the falls, follwed by fireworks (I'd like to think for us) on the bridge between Canada and the USA. The day really couldn't have gone any better.
